• School spending cap shot down due to House GOP defections (unionleader.com) — Merrimack residents are represented in a major school funding fight, as local Rep. Bill Boyd joined 21 other Republicans to back a narrower cap on school administrative costs, effectively sinking a broader statewide school spending cap. The House’s reversal kills HB 675 for now, but GOP leaders may try to revive the issue in future sessions or campaign on it in this fall’s elections.
