Police: Bank Robber Considered Armed, Dangerous
Robbery occurred at People's United Bank around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 14.
Merrimack Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating a mid-morning bank robbery in which a suspect allegedly showed the teller what he said was an explosive device before passing a note demanding money.
They are warning the public not to approach the man as he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Police responded to People's United Bank in Pennichuck Square just before 10:30 a.m. for the call of a lone male bank robber who was possibly armed with a small bomb. Police said he gave the teller a note demanding money and was in and out of the bank "within minutes" fleeing on foot toward the back of the bank where it is believed he had parked or had a car waiting for him.

The bank is at the intersection of Continental Boulevard and Route 101A.
Police describe the heavy-set male as approximately 5'9", around 300 pound and between the ages of 55 and 65. He was last seen wearing a gray suit, white Oxford dress shirt, multi-colored tie, eye glasses and a black tam golf hat worn backwards.
