Police Looking for Suspect in Theft at Outlets

Here are five things you should know as you start your Tuesday.

1. Theft suspect on the loose. Merrimack Police are looking for a suspect related to a theft at the Merrimack Premium Outlets on Monday, May 27. The man is described as an approximately 21-year-old black male, about 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with long dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing a denim jacket getting into a silver Nissan sedan with Rhode Island plates. He may have been headed south on the Everett Turnpike. In their last update, police said the there had been other arrests made already in connection with the theft and another car in their custody. Anyone who thinks they've seen this man can contact police at 424-3774 or 911 and should not attempt to detain him or initiate contact.

2. Honoring the fallen. Yesterday was the annual Memorial Day parade and remembrance ceremony at Last Rest Cemetery. Sunny, warm weather drew a large crowd, but if you were not able to make it, check out this photo slideshow from the event.

3. Torch run for Special Olympics. Merrimack Police, Merrimack High School students and community members will gather Wednesday morning to run through town with a torch to kick off to the Special Olympics. The torch run will end at the State Summer Games Opening Ceremonies in Durham on Friday, May 31. The group will meet Nashua runners at the Merrimack/Nashua town line for the torch hand off at the entrance to Nanocomp. Runners will make their way to the Bedford town line for the next hand off. 4. Congratulations in order for Kaitlyn Dine and Chase Terranova. The Sharon Arts Center in collaboration with the New Hampshire Institute of Art invites high school artists to exhibit in a juried show at their gallery in Peterborough. This year, Chase Terranova was the category winner for 2D Mixed Media and won a $100 cash prize. Kaitlyn Dine won a $1,500 scholarship to the New Hampshire Institute of Art for her drawing. Both students are attending art school in the fall, Chase to Montserrat College of Art and Kaitlyn to New Hampshire Institute of Art.

5. Weather watch. The rain may return for a little bit today, but then we appear to have a sunny week ahead, according to the National Weather Service. Increasing clouds, with a high near 76. Tonight A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.
