Police Make Drug, Assault and Drunk Driving Arrests
A log of arrests made during the last two weeks.

A motor vehicle accident on Turkey Hill Road, where no one was found at the car, resulted in the driver of the car's arrest on May 11.
Merrimack Police arrested Robert Denis, 32, of 5 Adams Ave., Merrimack, on one count of aggravated operating under the influence of liquor and two counts of conduct after an accident.
They were called to the area of 136 Turkey Hill Road for a reported accident at 2 a.m. on May 11 and found a black Mazda 3 with heavy front end damage and no operator around. It appeared that the Mazda 3 was heading south on Turkey Hill Road when it went off the shoulder of the road striking a column of mailboxes and a fire hydrant.

A short time later the registered owner and driver, Denis was located and while speaking with him, the officer detected signs of alcohol impairment. After a brief investigation Denis was arrested for O.U.I.L. Which was upgraded to aggravated O.U.I.L. and two counts of conduct after an accident. He was later released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail and was ordered to appear in the 9th Circuit Court in Merrimack on May 16.

A Merrimack man was arrested on Monday for allegedly assaulting a family or household member on Grapevine Road.

Police arrested David Bernotas, 58, on two counts of domestic simple assault. They say they were called to a residence on Grapevine Drive for a possible domestic disturbance. Upon arrival they spoke with the involved parties and determined Bernotas had grabbed another member by the arms and wrists. He was placed on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and was ordered to appear in the 9th Circuit Court in Merrimack on May 30 to answer to the charges.

A Merrimack teen was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled drug, marijuana, after police discovered him walking along the road while checking Backriver Road for a report of gunshots.
Joshua Rochette, 19, of 14 Packard Drive, Merrimack, was arrested Tuesday May 21, after police found him walking along Backriver Road. The responding officer said it was apparent Rochette had been drinking and because of his age, he was immediately placed in protective custody. While searching him, police found a quantity of marijuana. Rochette was arrested and placed on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court, Merrimack Division on June 4.
