Police Say Man Stole Car, Crashed Into House While Drunk
Merrimack police said over two residences sustained over $3,000 in damage .
Merrimack police charged a man with drunken driving after he crashed into two residences and later booked him for receiving stolen property when officers learned the Toyota Camry was stolen.
Police said Brian Macrabie, 34, was arrested after the accident at 5:42 a.m. on May 21.
Officers responded to 15 Railroad Ave. for a report of an accident involving a car crashing into a home. Upon arrival, officers found the front end of the Camry into the side of the residence.
They say Macrabie failed a sobriety test and was placed under arrest for DWI.
Police said witnesses saw the car traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed before spinning out at the end of the road and proceeding back up the road when the car left the roadway and struck the front stairs of one residence and then crashed into 15 Railroad Ave.
Police said the homes sustained about $3,000 worth of damage.
Manchester Police later notified Merrimack that the Toyota Camry had been stolen sometime overnight.
Macrabie was scheduled to be arraigned on the charges May 22 in Merrimack District Court.
