Police Seek Public's Help to ID Bank Suspect

A couple more descriptive details released about man suspected of robbing People's United Bank on Friday morning.

Merrimack Police have released a couple more descriptive attributes of the suspect in a bank robbery at People's United Bank late Friday morning.

The man, wanted by Merrimack Police and the FBI is being described as 55 to 70 years old, approximately 5’9”, 300-325 pounds, wearing a dark gray suit, with a white oxford dress shirt, and multi colored tie, designer style eye glasses, and a black Kangol style golf cap. Police have added blue eyes and light colored hair to the description.

Police say the suspect placed a “homemade” device and a note on the teller's counter, which stated the device was a bomb and demanded cash, or he would detonate the device.

The suspect then fled on foot to the rear of the Xing Wang Chinese restaurant where it is believed he left in a vehicle parked waiting for him.

No customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery, and no employees were injured.

Merrimack Police and the FBI are asking anyone who may recognize this man or anyone who was in Pennichuck Square that morning who may have seen this man or someone acting suspicious or who may have seen a vehicle that looked out of place to contact Det.
