Monday Essentials: One More Market Before Summer Ends

What you should know as you start your week.

School Board  to meet. The Merrimack School Board meets Monday, Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the Matthew Thornton Room at Town Hall. Among agenda items is a presentation of the proposed capital improvement plan for 2014-19 and a discussion of the Souhegan Riverwalk easement. Get the full agenda on the school website.

Conservation Commission meeting. The Merrimack Conservation Commission will also meet on Monday, Sept. 16, at 6:30 p.m. in the Merrimack Memorial Room at Town Hall. Among agenda items is a discussion about at proposed 57-unit elderly housing development between Island and Angelo drives. Get the full agenda on the town website.

Declutter your house and your life. Join the Merrimack Public Library and Lise Hildebrandt, owner and founder of Clean House, Clear Heart, who will discuss how you can cope with all the “stuff” in your life. She will provide tips on getting organized, including strategies for sorting and finding green solutions for your no-longer-needed items. But the sorting, cleaning out, and letting go of possessions is also a deeply emotional process. Lise will give advice on how to work through the attachments and obstacles that make organizing difficult. You will leave this interactive presentation with insight into your relationship with possessions, and with useful ideas about how to create a home environment that has space, peace, and meaning. The event is Tuesday, Sept. 17 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Library. Registration is helpful for planning purposes.

Final market of the season. As summer winds to a close (the first day of fall is officially this weekend), the Merrimack Farmers Market prepares to end the season. This Wednesday, Sept. 19, is the final Farmers Market of 2013. Make sure you stop by to stock up on any of your favorite goodies and check out what late summer/early fall treats await you. The Farmers Market runs from 3-6 p.m. in the parking lot at Tractor Supply.

Forecast outlook. What a great week  to end summer. The forecast for the week is looking pretty spectacular, with mostly sunny skies and daytime temperatures in the mid-70s. Enjoy it while it lasts, fall is knocking on our doors.
