Share Your Yard Sale on Patch
Here are 5 things you should know as you start your Wednesday.

1. Boost your yard sale earnings. Every weekend in Merrimack is an opportunity to sell your stuff to yard sale junkies. Whether you are a homeowner, church or civic organization, let the community know about your event by posting it for free on our events calendar. Add your yard sales by Thursday morning, and we'll add them to our weekly roundup of the wheres and whens. Read more here.
2. 10 days to go. There are 10 days until the Running Water 5k, a run/walk to raise money for a clean drinking well in Haiti. In addition to raising money with the race, teen race organizer Hannah Vaccaro also collecting reusable water bottles to bring to the third-world country. Registration for the Running Water 5k, and more information, is available online. Make sure to bring your reusable water bottle the day of the event and if you don't sign up online you can the day of.
3. Reserve your spot. Children ages 4 and older, (as well as teens, adults and everyone in between!) who would like to practice their reading skills can read to Dudley, a certified therapy dog, on Saturday between 10 a.m. and noon. The library will have reading materials available, but you are welcome to bring your favorite choice. Need to practice reading aloud in a foreign language? That's fine too! To reserve a 15 minute time slot, register online or call the Children's Room at 424-5021. Use an adult Merrimack Library card to register. Dudley will be accompanied by his companion Reading Specialist Karen Demyanovich who recently retired from the Merrimack School District .

4. Halfway over. New Hampshire's second annual Restaurant Week is halfway over, don't miss your chance to try a new restaurant. With fixed price lunch and dinner menus at restaurants across the Granite State are providing a taste of what you can get at their establishments. In Merrimack, check out Buckley's Great Steaks, The Homestead Restaurant and Tavern and the Common Man. Check out the full list of participating restaurants and learn more about this eight-day event.
5. Weather watch. A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Areas of fog before 8am, then Patchy fog between 9am and 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 86.
