Sherry Kalish Recognized Upon Retirement From Parks and Rec
Kalish was the director of the department for the last 16 years.
Parks and Recreation Director Sherry Kalish was recognized at Thursday night's Town Council meeting as she prepares to sign off as the head of the department.
Kalish, who is retiring from her position at the helm of Parks and Rec. will have her last day on June 30.
During the meeting she was recognized by her peers for her passion and dedication to the job. Resident Dave McCray recalled the energy Kalish brought to her role, saying she's not sure how she did it.
“Talk about someone who's taken a program and made it exponentially greater,” he said.

Terry Benhardt, the president of the Merrimack Youth Association, said he wanted to echo the accolades given by her colleagues during the last Parks and Recreation meeting (which can be watched here).
“I'm very much going to miss her, but I'm sure her replacement in time will pick up the pace and catch up to where Sherry was,” Benhardt said.
