Monday Essentials: Soldiers in Concert and Puddle Mitigation This Week

Informational meeting. The Town of Merrimack Public Works Department will host a public information meeting to discuss the proposed drainage and roadway improvements project that is scheduled to occur on Hillside Terrace. The meeting will be on Thursday, Aug. 1, 6 p.m. in the Town Hall Memorial Meeting Room. The project proposes to reconstruct approximately 450 feet of roadway and add drainage structures and pipe to eliminate the large puddle that occurs near 25 Hillside Terrace. A draft plan of work is linked below. The public meeting will include a brief presentation of the project with plans followed by a question and answer period for individual concerns. Following the meeting, final plans will be developed for construction later this fall or next spring. Bacteria warnings remain. As of early Monday morning, both water advisories remain posted on the Horseshoe Pond and the Souhegan River swimming spot at Watson Park. Elevated bacteria levels in Watson Park, and a cyanobacteria advisory on Horseshoe Pond have local officials warning residents to stay out of the water and keep their pets out, too, as a health precaution.
Wednesday meeting. The zoning board of adjustment has a regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday t 7:30 p.m. Get the agenda for the meeting on the town website here.

Summer concert. This weeks' summer concert in the Park, sponsored by the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department, will be Thursday, Aug. 1, at 7:30 p.m. (note the day and time change), performed by the 39th Army Band. The members of the 39th Army Band are dedicated soldiers and musicians representing many communities throughout our state, whose high standard of performance is respected and anticipated wherever they perform! They are a shining example of NH Soldiers at their finest!
