Two Arrested on Drug Possession Charges

The following arrest information was provided by Merrimack Police. An arrest is not an indication of a conviction.

Two Merrimack men were arrested early Sunday morning on drug-related charges after police stopped their vehicle on Daniel Webster Highway for a motor vehicle violation.

Keith Laurie, 23, of 144 Naticook Road, and Stephen Mackey, 24, of 17-21 Kimberly Drive, Merrimack, were each charged with possession of a controlled drug, marijuana. As the operator of the car, Laurie was also charged with transportation of a controlled drug.

Merrimack Police say they stopped Laurie's vehicle on Daniel Webster Highway near Twin Bridge Road, they noticed signs of drug use in the car. Upon further investigation he found both to be in possession of marijuana. Both were arrested and transported to the Merrimack Police Department where they were processed. Laurie was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and Mackey on $1,000 personal recognizance. The are both due in court on Feb. 26 to answer to the charges.

Also arrested over the weekend was:

John Hardy, 51, of 19 Hillcrest Drive, Merrimack. He was charged with forging an inspection sticker. Police say they noticed a Dodge Ram travelling south on Daniel Webster Highway on Sunday morning just before 11 a.m. that appeared to have a fake inspection sticker. Hardy, the operator of the truck, allegedly admitted to manufacturing the sticker. Hardy was released on $500 personal recognizance bail and ordered to appear in Merrimack's district court on Feb. 26 to answer to the charge.
