Vehicle Crashes Into The Woods Near Continental Blvd, 1 Person Injured

Merrimack police located three people Thursday who fled into the nearby woods; two were handcuffed and one was transported with injuries.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack Police Fire and EMS responded to Continental Boulevard in the area of Dunkin Donuts for a report of a vehicle in the woods on Thursday.

When police and fire arrived, around 5:45 p.m., they quickly located the vehicle, but no driver or occupants were at the scene. The vehicle airbags had deployed, and the vehicle was wedged into a tree. It appears the vehicle was traveling North on Industrial Drive, crossed Continental Boulevard, and continued driving into the woods after the roadway ended.

Police located three young males who were in the wooded area and appeared to have left the accident scene of the crash. Firefighters and medics evaluated the three people and EMS transported one with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Two other males were interviewed at the scene and, a short time later, were placed in handcuffs and transported from the scene by Merrimack police.

Lewis Towing arrived at the scene and pulled the Volkswagen back onto the road with the assistance of firefighters who cut a tree. Police removed several items from the vehicle and placed the items into evidence bags, and placed them in the cruiser.
