VFW Plaque Stolen, Police Seek Culprit

Somebody stole a bronze plaque valued at $2,000 from the sign outside of the VFW Post at 282 Daniel Webster Highway, and Merrimack police are asking for the public's help to identify those responsible.

The plaque was reported stolen April 25. The 24-by-24 brass emblem was affixed to the sign in front of the building.

VFW members told police the emblem may have been missing for two or three weeks. It weighs more than 100 pounds.

Anyone with information regarding the plaque and the person or people responsible for its theft are asked to call the Merrimack Police Department at (603) 424-2424, or submit a tip online by going to merrimackcrimeline.org.

Tips that lead to an arrest may be rewarded up to $1,000.
