Weare Man Arrested on Assault Charge
Police: the man is accused of striking a Hillsborough County deputy who was checking to make sure his handcuffs were not too tight.
Merrimack police arrested David Alonso on a charge of simple assault May 20.
Alonso, 27, of 422 Concord Stage Road, Weare, was arrested after a complaint the day before when a Hillsborough County deputy reported Alonso struck him in the hand at the county courthouse, according to police. The deputy was checking the tightness of the man's handcuffs at the time.
Alonso was charged and placed on $1,500 personal recognizance bail. He was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court in Merrimack on May 21 to answer to the charge.
