Will Scott Brown Attend Forum?
Merrimack Business Association says Jim Rubens, Bob Smith and Karen Testerman will be at the forum. They are waiting to hear back from Scott Brown.
The Merrimack Business Association announced that Jim Rubens, Bob Smith and Karen Testerman have accepted invites to participate in a U.S. Senate Republican candidates' forum June 18. Organizers are still waiting for Scott Brown to accept.
"Senator Scott Brown has not yet replied but it is our hope and expectation that his lack of response was an oversight and that he will be attending so that citizens will have their first opportunity to see the four candidates together for the first time as they explain why they are best suited to represent New Hampshire," the Merrimack Business Association said in its announcement.
The 90-minute forum will take place at Merrimack Town Hall and town resident Tom Young will be the moderator.
The candidates will have opening and closing statements and each will have the opportunity to answer questions on New Hampshire's business and employment climate, health care, and taxes.
Invitations were sent to the four via registered mail with the request that they RSVP a reply within five days for forum planning purposes.
More on the invitation process from Merrimack Business Association: "Senator Brown's registered letter was signed for on April 23rd but he has yet to reply. We have also reached out to him using other avenues and have gotten no response. Until we hear differently, we will be moving forward with the hope and expectation that all four candidates will be in attendance."
