There are collection sites for leaves, pine needles and other soft yard waste and a separate pile for brush like small branches and small stumps, Public Works Director Rick Seymour.
Stumps, branches and logs must be smaller than 5 inches in diameter to be accepted, Seymour said.

Brush can be brought to the transfer station during regular operating hours – Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All you need, Seymour said, is a transfer station sticker, which is free to all residents. Just bring your license with your in-town address or a utility bill that proves residence with you on your first visit to the transfer station.
Stickers expire at the end of December, Seymour said. New stickers are issued at the beginning of each calendar year and can be picked up at the transfer station.
The Merrimack Transfer Station is on Fearon Road, off Lawrence Road.
