Elderly Amherst Woman Dies In Milford Crash With Tractor-Trailer

Ana Aguilera died during a crash on Route 101 between Route 13 and the Osgood Road overpass on Wednesday; the trucker was also injured.

MILFORD, NH — Police in Milford are investigating a fatal crash on Route 101 on Wednesday that took the life of an Amherst woman.

Around 8:30 a.m., police, firefighters, EMTs, and New Hampshire State Police troopers, were sent to the area of Route 13 and the Osgood Road overpass for a crash. Ana Aguilera, 76, of Amherst, was driving a 2013 Ford C-Max crossover vehicle in the westbound lane when she crossed over the double yellow line and struck a 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer truck. The truck was being driven by Nicholas Edwards, 35, of Lebanon, Oregon.

“Aguilera sustained life-threatening injuries, passing away on scene,” Capt. Craig Frye of the Milford Police Department said. “Edwards was transported to St. Joseph hospital for treatment.”

Route 101 was closed for around five hours while the accident was investigated.

Frye said the incident was still under investigation. Along with state police and department of transportation personnel, Amherst and Wilton police department as well as Milford fire and rescue teams, assisted with the call.
