Hollis Man Injured During Dirt Bike Crash In Milford

MILFORD, NH — A man from Hollis was taken to the hospital after a crash on private property Friday in Milford.

Just after 5:15 p.m., a conservation officer with New Hampshire Fish & Game was sent to a report of a dirt bike crash. While en route, the officer learned his neighbor was taking the injured rider, Ronald Hillard, 22, to an urgent care center. The pain, however, became too severe, so they stopped and called Milford EMTs to continue the transportation, according to Thomas Houghton, a conservation officer.

Hillard was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Conservation officers later determined that Hillard was operating a friend’s dirt bike on private property when he lost control of the machine and fell off the back, sustaining a lower back injury,” he said. “Hillard did not have experience operating that particular machine, which appears to be the main contributing factor of the crash.”

At the time of the crash, Hillard was not wearing a helmet, Houghton said.

The incident remains under investigation, he said.
