Milford Firefighters Respond to Over 900 Calls in 2012

A look at the Milford Fire Department activities last year.

The Milford Fire Department responded to less emergency calls in 2012, according to the latest town report.

Firefighters responded to 934 calls last year, which is a decrease of 85 calls compared to 2011. The majority of the responses were service calls and false alarms.

Department members also provided over 9,297 hours of emergency response, training and assistance throughout the year. The Milford Fire Department Bureau of Training had its members participate in 5,637 of training in-house and at the NH Fire academy.

A total of 7 new members were hired, and over sixty volunteers received new certification.

The Bureau of Fire Prevention and Investigation conducted 597 inspections, plan review, education and inspectional activities. A total of 439 alarm permits and 574 outdoor burning permits were issued.
