Milford Girls Hoops Team on the Doorstep of Postseason Glory
Lady Spartans scheduled for tough semifinal matchup Monday night.

For years, the Milford girls basketball team has played in the shadow of their male counterparts, who have competed for, and won, several state titles in recent years.
Not this season.
With the boys basketball team stumbling and failing to miss the playoffs, thefourth-ranked Lady Spartans, who finished the 2012-'13 regular season with a 13-5 record to earn the playoff No. 4 seed, opened the playoffs last Tuesday with a 64-48 triumph over Pembroke Academy.

Friday night, MHS garnered a 57-35 quarterfinal win against No. 12 St. Thomas Aquinas to secure a spot in the Division II semifinals where they play No. 1 Lebanon at 7:30 Monday night at Southern New Hampshire University.
A victory earns the girls a 7 p.m. championship date Friday night with the winner of No. 3 Windham vs. No. 2 Portsmouth. For a complete look at the bracket, click here.
