Milford Oval Arson Suspect Jailed After Warning Tenant of Scheme

Colleen M. Carr of Milford had her insurance scam foiled after she warned a tenant.

A Milford woman is in jail for attempted arson on her own building after a warning she gave to a tenant prompted a police investigation, according to The Cabinet Press.

Rick Fells, owner of the Tasty Tobacco Shop, said that Colleen M. Carr, 49, of 139 Union Square, Milford warned him of her arson scheme to collect insurance money. 

Carr had planned to have somebody burn the Milford Oval building at 139 Union Square, which she and Fells both live above the tobacco store and P. C. Carr Realty.

She was arrested just days after Fells reported the conversation to Milford Police. Carr has been charged with conspiracy to commit arson (Class A felony) and witness tampering (Class B felony)
