Milford Woman Dies In Head-On Crash On Route 101 In Amherst: Police Update
Holly Wheeler of Milford was driving a 2008 Smart Coupe Sunday when her vehicle collided with a Dodge Caravan being driven by a Bedford man.
AMHERST, NH — Police in Amherst have released the name of a woman who died in a car crash on Sunday on Route 101.
Holly Wheeler, 49, of Milford, was killed after a collision on the roadway around 5 p.m. near the Amherst transfer station. She was driving a 2008 Smart Coupe westbound when she was killed during a collision with a 2012 Dodge Caravan driven by Jason Porter, 53, of Bedford.
Capt. Anthony Ciampoli of the Amherst Police Department said a juvenile in the minivan was evaluated for injuries at a local hospital.

“(The) preliminary investigation indicates that a westbound vehicle departed its travel lane and crossed into oncoming traffic, striking an eastbound vehicle,” he said.
The highway was closed for several hours, with traffic rerouted onto Old Manchester Road. Bedford and Milford police as well as New Hampshire State Police assisted Amherst with traffic.

Ciampoli said the crash remains under investigation and witnesses are being asked to come forward if they saw anything.
