Obama Endorses Milford Democrat In 2018 Midterm Election

AMHERST, NH -- Barack Obama endorsed a Milford Democrat running for state representative in the 2018 midterm election. Obama backed Joelle Martin, who's running to represent District 11. Martin was one of 25 New Hampshire Democrats Obama endorsed on Monday.

"(The) candidates ... aren’t just running against something, but for something—to expand opportunity for all of us and to restore dignity, honor, and compassion to public service," Obama tweeted. "They deserve your vote."

Obama also endorsed Nashua's Dan Toomey, running for state representative, Amherst's Shannon Chandley, running for state senator, and Jon Morgan, who's running for state senator in the district that includes Exeter.

At the top of the ticket, Obama endorsed Molly Kelly for governor and Chris Pappas and Ann Kuster for Congress.

The New Hampshire endorsements were among 260 Obama issued Monday for races across the country.

The election is November 6.
