A report of a plane crash in the Southern New Hampshire town of Jaffrey turned out to be a false alarm.

JAFFREY, NH — A report of a plane crash in the Southern New Hampshire town of Jaffrey Wednesday afternoon turned out to be a false alarm. The crash was reported on several social media channels at about 4 p.m. A Jaffrey fire dispatcher told Patch the plane briefly touched down on a frozen lake then flew back to Jaffrey Airport-Silver Ranch without incident.
A witness reported seeing the plane "crash" and that there was black smoke; firefighters responded to the scene and determined the report was false.
