Passengers In Plane Crash Die After Fire In Keene: Reports

Update: A small aircraft crashed into a building on Main Street, causing a major fire that went to three alarms on Friday.

KEENE, NH — Alerts online report a small aircraft crashed into a building in Keene, causing a multi-alarm building fire on Friday.

Fire alerts online first reported the crash at just before 7 p.m. on Main Street. After about 15 minutes, the fire went to three alarms, sending mutual aid from multiple communities to the city.

A photographer posted a picture on Twitter showing flames shooting through the roof of the building.

WMUR-TV reported the plane was a single-engine Beechcraft. The building it crashed into was an apartment building near Hope Chapel, a Christian church.

All of the passengers on the plane died, according to the city of Keene. All of the people inside the chapel building were able to escape.
