The governor signed a bill to allow bars to be open until 2 a.m.

Gov. Maggie Hassan signed a bill on Thursday that will allow bars to stay open until 2 a.m., according to the Associated Press. The change must be approved by the local governing body.

New Hampshire bars need to close their doors by 1 a.m., but your local watering hole may get an extra hour after the extension goes into effect Jan. 1. Drinking establishments in surrounding states also have a 2 a.m. deadline.
