Snowtober: One Year Later

As Hurricane Sandy bears down on us, today marks the one-year anniversary of the unexpected snowstorm that belted NH.

All eyes today are on Hurricane Sandy and the impact she may have on the northeast, so it's easy to forget that on this day, in 2011, southern New Hampshire was decimated by an unexpected fall snowstorm.

In fact, as it turned out, there was more snow on the ground on Halloween than Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day combined.

The National Weather Service reported 20.8 inches of snow accumulated in the area when a massive snowstorm buried the region on Oct. 29 and 30.
