32-Year-Old Man Charged With Assault, Domestic Violence In Nashua

NASHUA, NH — A 32-year-old man was arrested Monday night in Nashua and charged with assault and domestic violence after a dispute with a female acquaintance, the Nashua Police Department said.

Josue Dominguez, of no fixed address, was apprehended by the NPD's Uniformed Field Operations Bureau and was charged with second-degree assault, a Class B Felony, seven counts of domestic violence-simple assault, stalking-violating a domestic violence order, false imprisonment, resisting detention, and breach of bail conditions, all of which are Class A misdemeanors, according to authorities.

A Class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines, and a Class A misdemeanor is punishable by up to one year in the County House of Corrections, exclusive of fines.

Police said that Dominguez refused bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court-South on Tuesday.

According to police reports, at approximately 9:41 p.m. Monday, NPD officers responded to a Nashua residence after a report of a domestic dispute.

After arriving at the scene, officers were led on a short foot pursuit by the suspect, who was then apprehended, the NPD said.

Officers learned that Dominguez was known to the victim, who reported that she had been assaulted and strangled that evening, according to the NPD.

Authorities said the victim was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released.

Detectives from the NPD's Special Investigation Unit continued to investigate the incident and discovered that Dominguez was out on bail for a previous domestic-violence-related crime, which led to the breach of bail charge, the department said.
