5 Things: Why April's Full Moon is 'Pink'

It's hump day! Hug a camel.

1. Gate City Community Gardens Fundraiser: There is still time to help the Gate City Community Gardens reach it's "Seed Money" fundraising goal of $3,000 by April 30.

2. Twitter Hoax:  A Twitter hoax on April 23 caused some mayhem after the Associated Press Twitter account was hacked and sent out a fake Tweet reporting explosions at the White House, which in turn sent Wall Street into a tumble. USA Today reports the hoax has been claimed by Syrian Electronic Army — the group that hacked into BBC Weather's Twitter account earlier this year and more recently into the social media accounts of CBS' 60 Minutes and 48 Hours news shows. The FBI is investigating the security breach.

3. Got Flip-Flops? Temperatures today are supposed to be close to 70 degrees, partly sunny with a chance of spring fever.

4. UNH Student Inspires: Kids today aren't all bad. Take Cameron Lyle, a UNH athlete who is making national news for donating life-saving bone marrow to a man he doesn't know. You can read more here.

5. Full Moon in the Pink: You've heard of a Harvest Moon, even a Beaver Moon. Did you know April's full moon is called a Pink Moon?  Click here to get to Space.com, where you can find out why April's full moon (this Thursday) is is a Pink Moon, and what the other monthly moons are called, and why:

"The grass pink or wild phlox moon is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other names were the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon and — among coastal tribes — the Full Fish Moon, when the shad come upstream to spawn. The moon will also undergo a very slight partial lunar eclipse, which will be visible from the Eastern Hemisphere, but not from North America. At its peak, less than 1.5 percent of the moon's diameter will be immersed in the Earth’s umbral shadow; a very underwhelming event to say the least."
