An Opponent for Gov. Hassan?

Manchester attorney Brad Cook said he's considering a run.

So far, no Republican candidate has come forward to officially challenge Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan in 2014.

Several names have been floated, including Executive Councilor Chris Sununu, former Republican gubernatorial candidate Kevin Smith, and most recently, State Sen. Jeb Bradley. But for various reasons, they said they're not going to run against Hassan next year.

But a new GOP candidate emerged on Wednesday. 

Manchester attorney Brad Cooktold the Union Leader's John DiStaso that he's considering a run against Hassan in 2014. Cook is a senior partner at the law firm of Sheehan, Phinney, Bass and Green.
