UPDATED: Man's Body Pulled from the River
Police dive team recovered the body of a man after it was spotted caught on debris in the Nashua River.
UPDATE: 4:30 p.m. A man's partially-clothed body was pulled from the Nashua River by police dive team members a few hours after the discovery was made by a passer by.
According to Police Lt. Michael Moushegian, no other information about the cause of death or possible identity will be known, or released, at least until the morning.
"We'll work on identification and cause of death, and that will be the next part of the investigation," Moushegian said.

Divers worked with ropes and ladders to get to the body, which was to one side of the river, an article of clothing caught on a large tree branch. Divers managed to secure the body and pull it to the shore, then lift it up the steep embankment on a stretcher.
The man's body was partially submerged, about 150 yards from the dam behind Margarita's Restaurant and the Nashua Public Library. He was wearing what appeared to be gray sweatpants and two shirts, one dark and one light colored shirt.

Original story begins here 2:15 p.m.: Nashua Police Lt. Michael Moushegian said a body was discovered in the Nashua River early Thursday afternoon.
"The dive team is heading over now," Moushegian said, noting the water is still quite cold and the current is swift.
Police at the scene said the body was noticed by someone walking along the river path. The body is caught on some river debris at a point in the river police estimate to be about six feet deep.
Due to the swift current and estimated depth of the water, police divers will be entering the water at two access points.
Moushegian said there is no way to know yet whether it is a suspicious death, but there should be more information after Medical Examiner Rick McLaughlin, who is here, has a chance to see if there is an obvious cause of death.
"It's possible we may know who it is, but I am not going to speculate at this time," Moushegian said.
Nashua Patch will have more on this story as it develops.
Editor's Note: An earlier version of this story included information about the clothing on the body that was incorrect. The body found in the river was clothed in sweatpants.
