City Man Charged in Strong-Armed Robbery

The accused allegedly forcefully took money from person downtown back in May.

Nashua police said officers arrested Darren Benton, 36, of 9 Middle St., Nashua, and charged him July 27 with robbery, a Class B felony.

Police allege Benton, on May 12, robbed a man by forcefully taking money from the person in the downtown area.

A Class B Felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines.

Benton was released from the Nashua Police Department on $1,000 cash / surety bail. Police said he is scheduled to be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division on Aug. 7.
