Should Aldermen Convene Ad Hoc Commuter Rail Committee?

This is to change the meeting time for the Board of Public Works to start no earlier than 6 p.m.

R-13-105 ESTABLISHING A COMMUTER RAIL FEASIBILITY STUDY AD-HOC COMMITTEE

Alderman Dan Moriarty would like to launch an ad-hoc commuter rail study committee consisting of six members (three aldermen) to meet monthly over nine months and explore the feasibility of bringing rail to Nashua and the pros and cons.

On his Facebook over the weekend, Moriarty encouraged citizens on both sides of the issue to come out and speak.

"Yes, at least as I envision it, this ad-hoc committee's function is to provide a balanced view of the pros and cons of commuter rail - in addition to other tasks which we will decide as we go along. We will need motivated volunteers to help," Moriarty wrote.
