Nashua Women Arrested for Shoplifting at Walmart
Police found 40 items in their car, including sunglasses, cosmetics and household items.
Derry Police arrested three women for allegedly shoplifting from Walmart on Wednesday.
At 12:51 p.m. Wednesday, Derry Police responded to Walmart for a report of three individuals who were allegedly shoplifting. Loss prevention staff at the store reported that they observed three women taking items from the shelves and concealing them in their purses.
Officers made contact with the three women that the loss prevention staff reportedly observed taking merchandise. Through investigation, the officers determined that the suspects allegedly loaded items into their purses then brought it out to a car in the parking lot. The women then returned to the store where they took more items.
Maria Dacosta, 47, and Amy Lefebvre, 32, both of 97 Palm St., Nashua were charged with theft and Kourtney Kasko, 24, homeless was charged with two counts of willful concealment.
Derry Police seized a 1994 Toyota that is connected to this incident. Derry Police detectives searched the Toyota and seized approximately 40 items from Walmart and at least one other store in the area. These items included sunglasses, cosmetics, household items and personal care merchandise. Derry police detectives are investigating further.
Decosta and Kasko were held on $2,500 bail. Lefebvre was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Derry District Court on March 6.
