Downtown Update: In-Road Street Lighting to be Installed
How things went last week with the downtown sidewalk project, and what to expect this week.

Here's the latest update as found on the City of Nashua homepage.
During the week of May 20:
Rain became an obstacle in the completion of our sidewalk work. We poured two concrete pads in front of Cooking Matters and a bump out for the crosswalk, paving was completed around the curb, a planting bed was installed and a manhole was repaired on the East side of Block 2. We continued work on the crosswalk on the Main Street Bridge and the brick work began on the west side of block 2.

Week of May 27:
We plan to form and pour concrete pads from PCS Metro to Wingate Pharmacy. The brick work will continue on the west side of Block 2. The Main Street Bridge crosswalk including the in road lighting will be installed this week. We anticipate overnight work on the bridge crosswalk on Wednesday, May 29 and we will do our best to minimize any impacts to traffic during the construction of the crosswalk. Business owners: Green carpet leading directly into your storefront will clearly indicate that you are open for business. We will continue to do our best to limit the obstruction of parking and lanes. Unfortunately, it is necessary to take parking spaces where we are working. As you witnessed last week, weather can have a significant impact on our schedule. We will continue to do our best to minimize impacts to your business. Please do not hesitate to contact Roy Sorenson, Superintendent of Streets, or Andy Patrician, Operations Manager on site, or at 589-3140 with any concerns. You should see significant progress in the next couple of weeks. As always thank you for your patience and cooperation.
