Driver Flees From Police At High Speed, Crashes Into A Pickup Truck A Short Time Later

The crash occurred on the Exit 4 off-ramp of the F.E. Everett and East Dunstable Road. The driver exited the vehicle with serious injuries.

NASHUA, NH — A man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash after fleeing from police on the F.E. Everett Turnpike Wednesday night.

Nashua police activated their blue lights to pull over a MINI Cooper, which sped off. The officer turned off his lights and did not pursue due to the speed. A short time later, police found a two-vehicle crash at the Exit 4 off-ramp and East Dunstable Road. The MINI Cooper had exited the highway and struck a pickup truck, causing it to roll over.

The man driving the car got out, walked to the sidewalk, and got down on the ground, where he was placed in custody.

Nashua Fire Rescue and AMR ambulance responded to the scene at about 7 p.m. and began treating the man for serious injuries, and activated a trauma alert at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.

A second AMR ambulance was requested for the driver of the truck, and he was treated at the scene for less severe injuries and transported to the hospital.

The offramp was closed for about one hour while the scene was processed and the vehicles were removed.

The driver of the car was handcuffed and placed in custody when he was transported to the hospital; it is unknown what charges he faces.

Nashua police are investigating the accident.
