Group Rallies for Action on Gun Control
A sign wave was held Saturday at Library Hill in support of gun violence prevention.
Organizing for Action-New Hampshire and NH for Safer Communities held a "We Have Not Forgotten and Demand Action" sign wave and rally at Library Hill in Nashua on April 13, from 4:30-6 p.m. to honor the victims of the Newtown, CT, shooting on Dec. 14, 2012 – as well as more than 3,300 others who have died as victims of gun violence since, said Diedre Reynolds.
"We are calling for action from Congress to support gun violence prevention measures like the bipartisan legislation introduced by Pennsylvania Senator Pat Toomey and West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin, to require background checks for all commercial sales," said Reynolds on behalf of the group.
"More than 6.6 million gun sales were transferred in 2012 without a criminal background check. We expect members of Congress like our Sen. Kelly Ayotte to stand with the 92 percent of Americans who support background checks and not the gun lobby," Reynolds said.
