Hudson Motorcyclist Killed in Crash

Steven Fortier, 43, of Hudson, did not survive injuries sustained in an accident on Greeley Street.

Hudson Police are investigating a fatal accident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist Monday.

The accident happened at about 5 p.m. when Hudson Police and Hudson Fire Department responded to a call for assistance at the intersection of Greeley Street and Springwood Circle.  

Upon arrival the Hudson Police officers determined that a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van, driven by Tara Dufour, 33, of Hudson, was traveling north on Greeley Street.  As Dufour was approaching the intersection with Springwood Circle she was struck by a motorcycle that may have exited from Barlo Signs, located at 158 Greeley Street (across from Springwood Circle).

The motorcycle was identified as a 1998 Harley Davidson driven by Steven Fortier, 43, of Hudson.  

Hudson Fire Department EMT’s transported Fortier to the Southern New Hampshire Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by the emergency room physician.

Fortier was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, police said.

Dufour was not injured in the accident and was wearing a seatbelt. Three children inside the van were not injured. 

Hudson Police Crash Investigation and Reconstruction Team are investigating the accident scene.  Portions of Greeley Street between Old Derry Road and Gabrielle Drive are closed as the investigation continues.
