For mystery lovers, this series is a must.

NASHUA -  If you like mysteries with more than just a grain of truth, come to the Nashua Public Library for these five True Crime Month programs, held on Thursdays and Sundays in May.

All events are free and open to the public.

Law and Order: Boston

Join David Kruh as he applies the techniques of the TV show “Law and Order” to three high-profile cases: the Boston Massacre, the Parkman Murder, and the Boston Strangler. Together, we’ll follow the investigations and wind up in “court,” where we’ll argue the case and hear the verdict.

Lizzie Borden Took an Axe. Or Did She?

In 1892 Lizzie Borden was charged with the murder of her parents in Fall River, Mass. Although she was acquitted, the case created a sensation, and what truly happened remains a mystery to this day. Plymouth State University professor Annette Holba reviews the evidence. Funded in part by the New Hampshire Humanities Council. (This was postponed from February 21.)

The Lincoln Assassination

With our country engaged in Civil War, a group of conspirators plotted first to kidnap and then assassinate the President of the United States. In his multimedia presentation, historian Christopher Daley recounts in captivating detail the escape, capture, and murder of John Wilkes Booth and the trial of his coconspirators.

Mixing Fact and Fiction

How does an Emmy-winning, just-the-facts reporter for WHDH in Boston become a best-selling author of fast-paced murder fiction? Find out from Hank Phillippi Ryan, author of “The Other Woman” and other mysteries. The author’s books will be available for sale and signing.
