Bauman to Throw Tonight's First Pitch at Fenway Park

Boston Marathon Bombing terrorist attack survivor Jeff Bauman is getting to throw the first pitch at Fenway Park tonight, when the Red Sox take on the Philadelphia Phillies.

Bauman, interviewed on the Dennis & Callahan sports radio show on WEEI out of Boston, said he expected it to be fun and was excited about it, since he was a baseball player in school. When asked if he was looking forward to the opportunity, Bauman said, "Yeah ... it's going to be awesome."

Bauman told the show’s hosts that he hadn’t yet practiced throwing from his wheelchair but would be doing so later today.

In talking about his rehabilitation efforts at home, Bauman said he had been working out and using light weights to build his upper body strength.

“I'm doing all right ... I'm taking it one day at a time, trying to get stronger,” he said.

Soon, Bauman will be getting prosthetic legs. He had also been meeting with soldiers with prosthetics and learning from them. They were “living life, surviving, and they were very happy,” he said.

When asked if he was angry at all due to the terrorist attacks, Bauman said he wasn't.

“I haven't really been angry, no,” he said. “Confused ... but I'm not really angry though ... I’m staying positive … it’s not fun to be down.”
