Man Airlifted To Boston Hospital After Vicious Dog Attack in Nashua

Responders arrived at an unresponsive man with severe bites to his arm and neck. CPR was performed restoring a pulse after nearly 20 minutes

NASHUA, NH — A man is fighting for his life after suffering serious injuries in a vicious dog attack on Burgundy Drive in Nashua Saturday morning. The victim, who sustained wounds to his neck and arms, was initially found unresponsive by first responders.

Nashua Fire Rescue, AMR ambulance, and Nashua Police Department units were called to the scene. According to emergency dispatch audio, firefighters immediately began CPR on the man. After roughly 20 minutes of lifesaving efforts, medics successfully established a pulse.

The man was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where a trauma alert was requested due to the severity of his injuries.

Shortly after arrival, the decision was made to request Boston MedFlight to transport the victim to a Boston-area trauma center.

An AMR ambulance crew transported the victim and flight crew to Nashua Airport, where the MedFlight helicopter was waiting to airlift him.

Meanwhile, Nashua Police Officers and Detectives began an investigation at the residence on Burgundy Drive. Investigators could be seen interviewing individuals at the scene, including a man who identified himself as the victim’s brother.

A Nashua Police K9 officer at the scene removed a "bite suit," potentially used by officers when they responded to the call.

Police cleared the scene after approximately two hours. As of Saturday afternoon, the victim’s current condition remains unknown, as is the status of the canine involved in the attack.
