Man Caught After Two Robberies in One Day

Police believe Ronald Fitzpatrick attempted to rob Headlines before successfully robbing a Temple Street business on May 12.

On Monday we brought you a first-person account of an attempted robbery at Headlines gift shop on East Hollis Street, told to us by a customer who was there. Today, we bring you an arrest report from Nashua Police, who believe they got their man.

Ronald Fitzpatrick, 45, of 16 East Pearl Street Apartment 2, Nashua, was arrested May 14 at about 2:30 a.m. on a warrant charging him with two counts of robbery, a class B felony.

On May 12, 2013 at approximately 5:35 pm, the Nashua Police Department’s Uniform Patrol Division was notified of a robbery that had just occurred at Headlines Boutique located on East Hollis Street in Nashua. The clerk reported a suspect demanded money from the cash register. The suspect then fled the area before obtaining any cash. The clerk provided a description of the suspect.

On May 12, 2013 at approximately 6:15 pm, the Nashua Police Department’s Uniform Patrol Division was notified of another Robbery that just occurred at a downtown business on Temple Street. The clerk reported that a suspect entered the store and demanded money from the cash drawer in the same manner. The suspect fled the scene with an amount of cash and other merchandise. The description that this clerk provided matched the description of the suspect of the previous robbery.

Members on the Nashua Police Department’s Criminal Division furthered this incident and determined Fitzpatrick was responsible for both robberies. An arrest warrant was obtained and Fitzpatrick was subsequently arrested.

A class B felony is punishable by up to seven years imprisonment, exclusive of fines.

Fitzpatrick is being held at the Nashua Police Department on $ 10,000 cash / surety bail and was scheduled to be arraigned in 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division on May 15, 2013.
