Nashua Fire Assistant Chief Retires After 33 Years Of Service
George Walker will step down after more than three decades with the department. Steve Buxton and Jake Dodge also promoted.
NASHUA, NH - Nashua Fire held an open house Wednesday to show appreciation for Nashua Fire Assistant Chief George Walker who is retiring after 33 years of service to the city of Nashua.
Walker began his career in 1987, and was promoted to lieutenant February of 2000, captain in April 2004, deputy chief in June 2015, and assistant chief in April 2018.
Nashua Fire also announced that Deputy Chief Steve Buxton will be promoted to assistant chief of Nashua Fire as of Sept. 1. Deputy Chief Buxton began his career with Nashua Fire on Dec. 9, 1996.

Nashua Firefighter Jake Dodge has been promoted to training/safety lieutenant Aug. 16. Firefighter Dodge began his career at Nashua Fire on May 28, 2013.
Nashua fire is confident with the promotions that they will continue to accomplish their mission which is “To create a safe and vibrant community through risk reduction, preparedness, and a proactive all hazards response plan."
