Nashua Fire: Smoke Detectors Alert Residents
Nashua fire officials said residents of a West Allds Street apartment building were alerted to a fire by smoke detectors.

NASHUA, NH — Smoke detectors alerted residents of a Nashua apartment building to a fire Tuesday afternoon, fire officials said. The fire broke out at about 12:30 p.m. in the basement of a West Allds Street apartment building, according to Nashua Deputy fire Chief Glen MacDonald.
"The fire was burning behind a row of circuit breaker panels in the cellar," MacDonald said in a statement.
Smoke detectors activated and alerted those in the building to the fire. All the occupants made it outside before firefighters arrived, according to MacDonald. No one was hurt.

The three-story building at 5 Allds Street has six apartments and its owner is making housing arrangements for those displaced, MacDonald said,
The Nashua Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
