Nashua Firefighters Battle Basement Fire Sunday
Nashua Fire Rescue received calls for a fire in a single-family house, when they arrived they found smoke billowing out of the house.
NASHUA, NH — On August 30, 2020 at 8:58 p.m. Nashua Fire Rescue were dispatched to Edinburgh Drive for a reported fire in a residence.
First arriving firefighters found smoke billowing out of the house and quickly determined the fire was in the basement. Deputy Chief McDonald called for a working fire bringing additional apparatus to the scene.
When firefighters entered the basement there was fire, heavy smoke, and a basement full of items being stored. Crews were able to locate the fire, and knock it down before it spread to the first floor of the house. Multiple windows were removed in the basement, and opened on the first floor to eject smoke from the house.

The homeowner who was home at the time escaped with no injuries, and no firefighters were injured.
Nashua Fire Marshals Office is investigating the fire to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
