Nashua Firm May Repair Statehouse Dome

A Nashua company is being recommended for a $972,890 contract to repair the New Hampshire Statehouse dome.

Gov. Maggie Hassan and the Executive Council will consider authorizing a contract Aug. 14 with D.L. King, Associates Inc., of Nashua.

The project involves repair and repainting of the exterior white base of the dome and white lantern (cupola) structure above the dome, according to the contract. It includes repairs to – and re-gilding of – the dome roof, lantern roof, and ball and eagle.

There are a number of areas on the dome where existing wood trim has deteriorated and needs to be replaced.
