Nashua Man Charged With Felony Assault For Choking

Kelly Aubut, 47, of Nashua, is charged with felony second-degree assault after reportedly choking an 18-year-old man during an altercation.

NASHUA, NH — A Nashua man was charged with felony assault after reportedly choking a man during an altercation last week. Kelly Aubut, 47, of Nashua, is charged with Class B felony second-degree assault and Class A misdemeanor simple assault in connection with an April 3 incident in the area of Bell Street. Police say that Aubut put his hands around an 18-year-old man's neck to the point that he could not breathe.

Aubut was arrested on a warrant on Wednesday and was released on personal recognizance bail pending arraignment at Hillsborough County Superior Court on April 25. A Class B felony carries a maximum possible sentence of seven years in prison, not including fines. A Class A misdemeanor carries a maximum possible sentence of a year in jail, not including fines.
