Nashua Multicultural Festival Takes Place Saturday
The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Greeley Park and feature food, music and dance, art and activities for kids.

NASHUA, NH — The Nashua Multicultural Festival will take place Saturday and feature food, music and dance, art and activities for kids as Nashua celebrates its place as an official Welcoming City.
The free event is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Greeley Park, 100 Concord St. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday.
Sponsored by the Nashua Mayor's Office, the Multicultural Festival is part of Nashua's celebration of Welcoming Week, an annual series of events that bring together the city's diverse population and raise awareness about the benefits of welcoming everyone.

Welcoming Week is part of a national movement sponsored by Welcoming America.
"Through Welcoming Week, organizations and communities bring together neighbors of all backgrounds to build strong connections and affirm the importance of welcoming and inclusive places in achieving collective prosperity," Welcoming America said in a statement.

In September 2016, the City of Nashua adopted legislation to officially become a Welcoming City. Since then, the city and community partners have worked to incorporate welcoming initiatives into the daily life of the community, according to city leaders.
"Nashua is committed to continue building a welcoming and neighborly atmosphere in our community, where all people including immigrant newcomers are welcome, accepted and integrated; and to encourage all residents of Nashua to do their part in reaching out and welcoming all who live, work and visit Nashua," the city said in a statement about becoming a Welcoming City.
