Later Sunday, Massachusetts State Police found the SUV and a chase ensued with troopers tracking the vehicle at approximately 95 mph on Interstate 95. The suspect then exited the highway to the Prime Energy gas state on Central Street, according to the Newburyport News.

There, the vehicle was blocked by troopers and police, according to scanner chatter. The driver attempted to hit the vehicles with the SUV and he was shot, according to radio transmissions.

In a report, state police confirmed "a weapon or weapons were discharged."

EMTs were called to the gas station and the suspect was taken to the hospital around 7 p.m.. Initial reports indicate that no police officers were injured, state police said.

The Newburyport News report stated police vehicles surrounded the BMW at the gas station. The vehicle's driver's side door was open — with clothing and other items seen on the ground. Police also gave the man medical treatment before he was taken to the hospital, the newspaper reported Monday.

"Investigation is ongoing, more information to be provided later this evening from the District Attorney’s office and Colonel Christopher Mason," Massachusetts State Police said on Twitter.

Murray, according to press reports, may have been involved in other car thefts last weekend in Boston and North Andover, according to state police, although that information has not been confirmed.
