Nashua Public Works News: Pools Closing + Water Main Shutdown

NASHUA, NH —Nashua's public pools have started to close for the season, with Centennial Pool the first to shut down on Friday.

The Nashua Division of Public Works previously announced that Saturday will be the final day for Crown Hill Pool, while Rotary Pool will close after August. 27.

"Well, it's that time of year again. We say goodbye to summer and hello to fall — which means our Nashua pools will soon be closing. We have enjoyed seeing all of you this summer and look forward to another great year in 2023," the Nashua DPW said in a statement. "We would like to thank our wonderful lifeguards and wish them the best as they head back to school."

Water Shutdown

Nashua DPW announced that Pennichuck Water will be shutting down the water main on Nye Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday. The shutdown will close one valve, but no hydrants.

There will be a total of seven customers affected by the shutdown, and all have been or will be contacted directly by Pennichuck Water, according to Nashua DPW.

Tree Removal

Nashua DPW announced that Dublin Avenue between Woodland Street and Freemont Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday due to tree removal.

The department has asked motorists to seek alternate routes during the closure.
